Job Description
Are you an experienced Manufacturing/Operations Leader looking to join a global ASX listed organisation and take the next step in your career?
As a valued part of the Supply Chain team, your role will be to provide leadership, resourcing, planning and direction to deliver excellence in safety, customer service, quality and operational cost performance for our site in Derrimut, the largest and most complex plant in our Australian network. This is a critical role with high level exposure internally and could potentially be a great platform for rapid career growth at CHEP. This role reports to the Site Manager and is critical to the success of the plant.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Deliver excellence in safety via a proactive approach to safety management and systems
Create a positive, productive and safe working environment
Provide leadership, direction, coaching and support to a Leadership Team of 8+ and 120 front line operators for this 24/5 operation
Manage costs to achieve budgets and production forecasts via appropriate resourcing and planning
Maintain a sound industrial relations culture
Implement best practice initiatives and drive continuous improvement processes
Maintain quality and customer service standards
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
Leadership experience in a fast-paced industrial production or operations environment
The leadership capability to drive and motivate a diverse multi-cultural workforce
Solid experience in performance management and conflict resolution
A commitment to safety, continuous improvement, innovation and change
Business planning, budgetary and financial management experience
Some exposure to production and maintenance planning, embracing the use of technology. Excel skills.
Strong communication and team building skills
The ambition to progress into a senior plant leadership role
