The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager,
Operations Review to lead a new and critical role within Office of the Associate Secretary, providing the department with quality insights into systems and processes to drive continuous improvement.About the Business UnitThe Department of Justice and Community Safety (department) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.The Office of the Associate Secretary (Office) supports the Secretary to lead and manage the responsibilities and statutory requirements of the department.Operational Performance and Cultural Reform (OPCR) is tasked with supporting the Associate Secretary in leading the department's agenda in the delivery of justice and community safety services in Victoria by providing advice to the Secretary, the Board of Management and Ministers regarding the department's strategic and operational performance and overseeing the Department's response to the Corrections Cultural Review. OCPR undertakes reporting and monitoring of organisational health and performance, whole of department oversight of the implementation of the Government's response to the Corrections Cultural Review, coordination with other areas of the department, and managing interdependencies with related work and operational reforms across the broader justice system.
About the RoleThe Manager,
Operations Review will lead a new team to identify and define the solutions that will maximise the department's service delivery to the Victorian community while persuasively articulating the need for change in how the department works.The Manager work as part of the wider Data and Performance team, leveraging the existing broad skill base in evaluation, data analysis and modelling capabilities and utilising departmental data assets in their work.
Some of your duties will include:- Lead, manage and develop a team delivering high quality business process review and continuous improvement advice to senior departmental executives to drive effective and efficient operations.
- Provide high level technical, authoritative strategic and innovative policy and practice advice to departmental executives on highly complex and potentially sensitive matters that aligns to the department's goals and objectives.
- Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team including business analysts and policy expertise, providing professional development opportunities to ensure the teams' effectiveness and growth.

About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:- Proficiency in operational process management and methodologies to effectively analyse and optimise business processes within the department.
- Strong understanding of data analytics tools and techniques and expertise in defining and tracking key performance indicators to measure and report in operational performance.
- Proven track record in providing advice to senior leaders, providing data-backed recommendations, performance metrics and insights to inform planning and decision-making.
- Proven track record in providing advice within a complex operational environment.
Qualifications- Qualifications in a relevant discipline would be highly desirable.
