About the role
Based at Seven Hills and reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the operational functions and tasks within the branch. This includes management of the incoming scrap metal from our company drivers and external customers as well as the machinery in the yard. The successful candidate must be confident, well organised and have an eye for detail. The role requires a comprehensive approach to efficiency and safety, with the branch performance heavily reliant on the skills and disciplines instilled by the Operations Manager.
The Role
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Manage the day to day operations team including labourers, machine operators, and supervisory team.
- Oversee the OH&S, Logistics and Transport team.
- Implement systems and processes for efficiency and productivity improvement.
- Oversea staff training programs and staff review.
About your experience and skills
- Experience in the Waste, Recycling or Scrap metal industry preferred, but not essential.
- 5-10 years overseeing an operation team
- Experience in implementing an OH&S system
- Proven track record in creating and implementing systems and processes for an operation's team
