About the role
An exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our growing team!
This role will be responsible for overseeing operations and team members in the Freight Forwarding department in Queensland. This is a vital role that ensures operations are executed in line with DP World’s strategy in end-to-end logistics.
The key roles and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Oversee all operational processes to be used by the operations team
- Oversee the system of the DP World freight forwarding system
- Create and Use risk matrix for daily operations
- Eliminate non-recoverable costs
- Actively manage detention and storage across all transport modes
- Ensure that shipments are registered in the system within the KPIS
- Ensure that shipments are customs cleared within the KPIS or escalated
- Oversee gross profit of job files
- Oversee that jobs are completed and movement to completed status
- Ensure jobs are finalised for end of month in their operational month
- Select appropriate service providers in line with DP World vendor requirements
- Conduct due diligence on vendors before appointing or continuing to use
About you
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- 10+ years Freight Forwarding experience
- 5+ years in leadership or management roles
- Training in Freight Forwarding operations
- IATA/FIATA or other logistics education
- Other industry training such as DG management, supply chain management
- Cargowise system training
- Excellent understanding of operations in the NZ market
- Excellent understanding of international trade in relation to INCOTERMS
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build reports
- Understanding of process and workflows
