About The Opportunity
The Operations Manager – Theatre is responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of our theatre facilities, focusing on patient safety, operational efficiency and team development on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities will include daily perioperative workforce planning, daily and operational management in particular matching resources and allocating nursing staff and resources to meet the needs of our patients whilst maximizing operational efficiency and stakeholder expectations.
The position requires advanced management skills to support the perioperative team and surgeons in the smooth running aof lists whilst focusing on patient safety and best patient outcomes.

- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working at a senior level within the perioperative area.
- Proven ability in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage different demands and work priorities.
- Advanced problem solving, analytical and advisory skills.
- Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded
- Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
About the Organisation
Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Advanced Surgical and Medical Hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD. In March 2015 the region’s first Private Emergency Department was opened at Lake Macquarie Private, providing another option for people requiring emergency care. The hospital is also home to the Ramsay Cancer Centre, the Hunter Region's only comprehensive private oncology service providing Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Research, Support Services and Education all located on the one campus.
We are undergoing a major development which will see the hospital expand the services significantly over the next five years.
