Operations Officer - Flexible Location Around Australia

Sturrock Grindrod Maritime (SGM) is a Shipping and Logistics Company with offices across the Globe specialising in Ship and Port Agency Services.

We are seeking to employ a motivated and professional person to be based in any of our branches located in Sydney (Ultimo), Melbourne, Fremantle, Brisbane or any regional office (Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Newcastle, Port Kembla, Adelaide). 

Duties will include operational duties for vessel calls in multiple ports around Australia. This includes tasks such as liaising with vessel masters, owners, charterers and service providers, and all vessel operational tasks including communication and compliance with Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Port Authority requirements. 

This role would suit someone with a minimum 1 years ship agency experience and preferably across multiple ports. There are opportunities for travel to other Australian branches and potentially International travel if desired.

Good computer skills are essential, as well as good organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate will be an energetic and committed individual who can work in a team environment but also comfortable working autonomously. Experience in multiple Australian ports will be highly regarded. A Valid Driver’s Licence and current MISC are required for this role. 

A salary package commensurate with work experience will be offered.
