We currently have a terrific opportunity for an Operations Officer to join our Creative Venues Events & Tourism team.
About this Role
As Operations Officer you will be responsible for leading the venue operations of Latrobe City Councils Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC), Latrobe Performing Arts Centre (LPAC), Creative Industries Training Centre (CITC) and Kernot Hall. Whilst ensuring efficient operations of these venues you will lead our Front of House, Functions, Events, Box Office and Customer Service team to deliver excellent services that will exceed our community’s expectations. You will form part of our Creative Venues leadership team and contribute to the operations and strategic direction of our creative venues services and programs.
You will on occasion be required to work evenings and weekends.
About You
For this position, we are seeking a passionate individual with an excellent knowledge of the performing arts industry, combined with a strong understanding of the operational aspects of a large venue. You will have strong leadership capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customer service always front of mind.
You will ensure efficient operations of the GPAC precinct, manage key contracts and work with community and commercial hirers to facilitate venue use and contribute to the operations and strategic direction of Creative Venues services and programs in collaboration with the Coordinator Creative Venues and the Creative Venues leadership team
You will also need:
- A relevant qualification in event management, business, hospitality, or a related field with recent experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills which use creative and imaginative approaches to find innovative solutions to issues.
- A comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance issues across all aspects of creative venues and the ability to apply these principles within the workplace.
- Proven contract management experience.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and/or significant knowledge in the maintenance of a safe environment within a creative venue setting
- A Current Driver's Licence.
