The Office 

The MSC Brisbane office is a recently refurbished, modern office in a beautiful Spring Hill heritage building. With end of trip facilities, automated coffee machines, security access and a team of supportive and dedicated colleagues, working in this office is a delight!   

We are surrounded by cafes, restaurants and other amenities and are walking distance from Central train station and key bus routes, providing easy access to the CBD and suburbs. We are looking for a candidate who would like to join us and learn about the exciting world of shipping and logistics. 

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time, permanent Operations Officer within the Operations Team. 

The primary task and responsibilities for this position: 

• Liaising with stevedores and ensure all stevedoring functions are performed as required
• Create and lodge reefer manifests for presail inspections
• Balance import and export containers with Link and stevedore lists
• Lodge and clear customs manifests for export containers within statutory time limits
• Liaise with cargo suppliers, ships officers and consignees as required
• Ensure internal and external hazardous cargo requirements are met including all CHEMLINK procedures
• Prepare and process all operations reports as required 
• Process vessel accounts within credit terms
• Assist container control department when required

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the below skills:

• Minimum 2 years of shipping or logistic experience is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Brilliant organizational skills
• Exceptional time management skills 
• Ability to work under pressure and handle many tasks simultaneously
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential

The ability to work flexible hours including weekends is an essential requirement of the position.
