About the position

We are seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent to oversee and organise the daily processes of our Bowen Basin operations teams. Reporting to Regional Operations Manager – East, you will provide effective leadership, planning, and resources to achieve project zero harm, safe systems of work, quality, performance, financial objectives, and operational targets.
In this role, you will be critical in developing and managing the on-site relationship with our clients’ representatives. You will motivate, inspire, and keep your people safe and well whilst growing in leadership skills, and operational and commercial acumen. Accordingly, travel is required to our sites in the Bowen Basin and surrounding regions.

Core accountabilities include:
- Demonstrate and provide effective leadership to enable the successful implementation and maintenance of safe systems of work for relevant operational sites
- Develop and manage client relationships with a view of promoting Enaex Australia
- Maintain focus on operational performance
- Drive a strong safety culture
- Ensure site personnel have appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies
- Continually strive to improve P&L in line with project costs, forecasts and budgets
- Identify workplace issues and resolve them in a timely manner in accordance with ER/HR policies, standards and procedures
- Keep abreast with technical skills updates and best practices
- Work collaboratively and foster relationships with key stakeholders
- Promote a culture of continual improvement throughout the operations team
Essential requirements
- Extensive experience in Mining/Drill and Blast Operations
- Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour
- Effective people management experience and skills
- S1, S2, S3, G1, G2 Certifications
- Strong organisational, communication and planning skills
- Intermediate level of computer literacy and the ability to analyse data
- Knowledge, experience or training in Risk Management
- Ability to develop strong, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Desirable requirements
- Relevant tertiary education
- TAE Certification
- Relevant Industry RII’s – MPU Operations / Shotfiring
