Job Description – Operations Supervisor
The Company:
T & G Sand and Gravel Pty Ltd is the leading residential construction site waste collection and transportation business in South-East Queensland and is experiencing unprecedented growth. Our customers include the largest home builders in South-East Queensland.
The Role:
We are currently searching for an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee our operational teams based south of Brisbane. The role is predominantly field based, with the provision to work from your home office periodically.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the work involves the supervision of six small operational teams tasked with using heavy equipment to clean residential construction sites by efficiently removing waste materials and transporting them to recycling facilities and waste transfer stations. The successful candidate will also be required to engage with customers periodically to ensure the company’s highest standards of customer service are upheld.
About you:
The ideal applicant must have qualifications and experience in supervision. All applicants must be able to problem solve, work under pressure, show initiative and have a good practical understanding of OH&S regulations and compliance.
The position has key responsibilities for the clear direction, organisation, leadership and continuous improvement of operations at a site-based level. The position works closely with the senior management team to continually improve operational processes.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated abilities to supervise and manage operational staff.
- Qualifications in leadership and management.
- Extensive experience in a similar role.
- Sound understanding of legislative requirements.
- Scheduling and planning experience.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated skills in earthworks or similar.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
- Excellent time management skills, with ability to effectively prioritise workload.
- Demonstrated ability to issue and follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to utilise computer systems and communications technology.
- First aid qualification (desirable)
- Current Police Check no older than 6 months.
