About the role
Working closely with Management and the Leading Hand you will proactively supervise and coordinate the daily operations schedule of drivers, trucks and trailers and depot / storage yards.
Duties
- Proactively coordinate driver and equipment schedules, ensuring efficient pick up and deliveries are met
- Communicate internally and externally to all interested parties
- Manage customer enquiries, quotes, bookings
- Maintain communication with drivers throughout the day
- Ensure administration compliance
- Ensure correct load restraints, driver fatigue, risk management strategies and compliance with all legislative requirements
- Liaise with maintenance ensuring service schedules are met
Skills & experience
We seek and transport professional who can bring a proactive mindset to improving and introducing operational efficiencies. You will be a strong leader who enjoys working with structure in a busy environment.
- Transportation experience, specifically in a supervisory or senior leading hand position
- Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance
- Proactive problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Truck driving experience
- HC truck licence – advantageous but not essential
- CV crane ticket – advantageous but not essential
- Forklift driving licence – advantageous but not essential
