The purpose of this role will be to support our Cannington Operation in all aspects of operating and maintaining gas and diesel power generation equipment on site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and operate Caterpillar 3516 and 3520 gas and diesel reciprocating engines
- Operate low pressure waste heat boilers and associated ancillary plant and equipment
- Operate advanced instrumentation and process control systems
- Perform regular inspection and maintenance of above equipment to a high standard
- Monitor the process to ensure optimum output
- Carry out routine housekeeping duties
- Utilise the Maintenance Management and Quality Assurance Systems as part of the daily functions
- Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
- Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors
- Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required
We are looking for someone who can:
- Operate boilers, diesel and gas fired engines and other pressure equipment
- Trouble shoot and conduct basic fault finding
- Understand process operations in power generation plants
- Monitor equipment using computers to measure, record and make adjustments within operating parameters.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Electrical Trade certificate
- Experience in operating and maintaining large reciprocating engines
- Current drivers license
- First Aid certificate (desirable)
You will also need to have the ability to work as part of a multi-skilled team and be reliable, committed and motivated to achieving team objectives.
