Operator Plant - Backhoe
Mackay Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced Backhoe Operator to join our Civil Operations team at Sarina Depot. This position offers a permanent full-time opportunity with a 9-day fortnight roster.
As an experienced Backhoe Operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction and maintenance projects for roads, drainage assets, and other civil infrastructure. Working under limited supervision, you'll utilize your expertise to operate backhoes efficiently and safely.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Current General Construction Safety "White" Card.
- Valid QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence.
- QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or equivalent from interstate.
- Competency certificate for the operation of ride-on equipment and light and medium mechanical plant, with a strong emphasis on backhoe operation.
- Experience in civil construction, particularly in roads and drainage infrastructure.
- Previous experience in concrete works.
Applicants holding additional certifications such as a Certificate III in Civil Construction, Traffic Controllers Ticket, and/or HC Truck Licence will be highly regarded.
