Weighbridge Attendant

Location:  Tamworth, NSW

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in Council’s waste management and Resource Recovery operations

Council are seeking a customer focused, friendly and professional individual with experience in recording data & cash handling.

You will play a critical role in assisting the community to manage their waste in an environmentally sustainable manner, as well as the ability to deliver excellent customer service.

The Weighbridge Operator is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and controlling the waste entering the landfill by screening, assessing and classifying the waste;
  • Recording waste types and quantities to satisfy both Council and Statutory requirements;
  • Collecting fees, issuing receipts and maintaining accurate sale records for waste deposits and product sales; and
  • Maintaining landfill sites

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Certificate II in Civil Construction, Waste Management, Plant or similar OR equivalent practical experience
  • WHS Construction Induction Card

Salary range: Grade 6 - $1,081.10 - $1,169.80 per week for a 38 hour working week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation. Additional penalty rates are available for weekend work and an adverse working conditions allowance (plus 11% superannuation). Opportunities for overtime work are also periodically available.

This position requires the successful applicant to work in a 28 day roster which may occasionally require out of hours work (including public holidays) to meet Council’s operational and customer service obligations. Where work is required out of normal hours, penalty rates in addition to the salary detailed above may apply.
