We are seeking candidates who love change, are great communicators and have a knack for technology for the position of Organisational Change and Communication Manager. Full-time or part-time hours are available. Offers will be based on candidate performance and operational requirements. Flexible working conditions are available.

About the OFWO

The Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman (OFWO) is an independent statutory office established by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Fair Work Act). Our functions outline the responsibilities we have as set by the Fair Work Act and other legislation to achieve our purpose:

  • provide education, assistance, advice and guidance to employers, employees, outworkers, outworker entities and organisations
  • promote and monitor compliance with workplace laws
  • inquire into and investigate breaches of the Fair Work Act
  • take appropriate enforcement action
  • perform our statutory functions efficiently, effectively, economically and ethically.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for employment with the OFWO you must be an Australian citizen. 
  • The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance. 

A range of other conditions may be required depending on the role you are applying for.

About the Branch 

The Technology Branch is responsible for delivering and maintaining secure, stable, reliable, and modern internal and external facing systems that support OFWO business areas to deliver OFWO’s functions to the highest standard. Our IT infrastructure is provided under a Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. 

The Technology Engagement Services function supports the Office of the CIO and the Technology Branch more broadly to deliver strategic outcomes, business benefits, organisational/operational Change and technical innovation through IT investments arising from the Technology Strategy and the operational needs of the Technology Branch. 

Typical Duties 

The typical duties of this role include, but, are not limited to:

  • Developing, implementing and evaluating change management plans to ensure impacted stakeholders are ready and able to adopt the change. This may include stakeholder impact assessments, communication, training, stakeholder engagement strategies. 
  • Developing and maintaining key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Working closely with project managers to deliver change management/stakeholder engagement and Communication activities and artefacts. 
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop training artefacts to build knowledge and on-demand support. 
  • Collaborating and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support business and system changes. 
  • Attending, participating in, and contributing to, a variety of forums, groups and workshops. 
  • Working with, and coordinating efforts of other change management specialists and team members. 
  • Demonstrating attitudes and behaviours responsive to workplace change to encourage others to participate in Change and contribute to successful outcomes.

  • Ability to build a positive, collaborative working culture that encourages innovation, learning, business improvement opportunities and delivering high quality customer service 
  • Ability to take responsibility for guiding, mentoring and providing feedback to peers and the ability to operate effectively as a team player. 
  • A demonstrated capacity to think on your feet, to solve problems and work effectively with others.

Please note: travel may be required as part of this role.

What we are looking for 

Under broad direction, the key capabilities/skills for the role include:  

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders. You will be able to act as translator between technology and business SMEs, clarifying and confirming understanding of key concepts 
  • Ability and experience in successfully leading a change project, with experience in developing and executing communication, training and/or change management plans 
  • The ability to work across a large multi-disciplinary team, balancing competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes 
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships and networks.
