About the roleMater Health has an exciting opportunity for an Orthoptist to join the team in a part time (0.6FTE) and fixed term (until 30th June 2024) capacity and located at South Brisbane.You will provide a range of ophthalmic diagnostic tests utilising skills and experience to inform diagnosis and clinical management in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team within the Ophthalmic Service.Join a leader in healthcare and an iconic QLD organisation.Salary-$37.13- $54.43 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging up to $15,900.What you'll be doing

• Provide knowledge and clinical skills in the role of an Orthoptist and provide a range of ophthalmic diagnostic testing as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities or formal qualifications.
• Utilise knowledge and clinical skills in exercising independent professional judgement in problem solving and clinical management, managing a caseload relevant to orthoptic professional practice and with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
• Provide education and training for multi professional colleagues to ensure that relevant processes and diagnostic testing for Departmental patients is accurate, safe and efficient
• Monitor and report clinical work practices and outcomes within clinical service area.
• Provide support to the ophthalmology Multi-disciplinary team regarding service delivery, equipment, technology and IT systems within the department and the prioritisation and development of ophthalmic clinical services and efficient patient flow.
• Contribute to relevant clinical research activities within the work unit

About youTo be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role in a large and complex hospital environment coupled with the below

• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
