Are you up for the challenge?
We are currently looking for an experienced Overhead Wiring Site Engineer to join the rail team working on our Southwest Metro Corridor project, based in Canterbury.
We are interested in applicants who have experience in Overhead Wiring Systems and/or traction and civil. The successful candidate will provide onSite Engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff as well as liaising with key internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the role include;
- Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager
- Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets
- Verify subcontractors' claims and variations
- Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager
- Maintain drawing register controls for the project
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
- Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 2 years' Rail Construction experience, Overhead Wiring experience preferrable
- Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures
- Hold a current driver's license
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts and night shifts when required. For any eligible weekend shift work completed, you will be eligible for additional compensation
