Job Summary:
The Team Leader at The Oxley Village Grocer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the store. This position involves supervising and motivating team members, ensuring high standards of customer service, managing stock and inventory, and maintaining the overall presentation of the store. The Team Leader acts as a bridge between the Store Manager and the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of retail associates to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate store goals, updates, and provide feedback.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new team members.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure all team members deliver a high level of customer service and address customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
- Lead by example in providing exceptional service, engaging with customers, and enhancing their shopping experience.
- Operational Oversight:
- Assist the Store Manager in daily operational tasks, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring products are stocked, rotated, and displayed properly.
- Oversee the maintenance of store cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
- Sales and Financial Goals:
- Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and managing budgets.
- Implement and oversee promotional activities and store events to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Analyze sales reports and provide insights to optimize store performance.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all team members are aware of emergency procedures.

- Foster a strong relationship with the local community and support local initiatives and partnerships.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service leadership role, preferably in a grocery or food retail environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team.

- Proven ability to manage inventory, financials, and operational procedures effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a retail environment.
