Mars Wrigley Australia home to many well-known brands such as Skittles, Extra & Eclipse are looking for a hands-on Leading Hand to join our Packaging Night Shift Team.
In your new role you will report directly into the Packaging Team Leader and will provide support to the associates to ensure production targets are met. As the primary escalation point it is crucial that you communicate tasks accurately and reliably, disseminating relevant information throughout your shift and during shift changes. This ensures a seamless continuity of safe and effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- First point of contact when there are breakdowns, quality issues, line downtime and packaging or raw problems.
- Implementation of MARS safety standards and processes across the shift. These include, but is not limited to; start up checks, LOTO, incident reporting, accident investigations and department Safety toolbox attendance.
- Ensuring GMP’s, Hygiene Standards and Quality procedures and requirements are followed. These include, but is not limited to; start up checks, flavour change checks, consumer complaint investigations, cleaning Schedules, NCR investigations and Quality toolbox training attendance.
- Monitor and act against key production indicators and processes; shift case targets, deviation from standard, required number of line tours, HACCP checks.
- Managing Associate and casual labour placements across the shift.
- Support the development of Associate to ensure they are engaged, cross skilled and have the necessary skills to work across different technologies to reduce single points of dependency.
- Support continuous improvement activities to reduce costs, via Improved OEE, reduced wastage, TPM Activities, basic maintenance, and reduction of downtime via trouble shooting.
What will you bring to the role?
- Experience in high-speed packaging and high-volume manufacturing for a minimum of 3 years.
- Understanding and well-rounded knowledge of mechanical equipment, machines, and processes.
- Understanding of GMP standards related to food practices.
