Job description

Summary of the role:
Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team providing and further developing high quality, evidence-based, person-centred, safe and effective care to paediatric patients in the Special Care Nursery setting, as well as short-term follow-up of these patients and some support of the paediatric ward as required.
  • Permanent part-time (0.4EFT) Grade 3/2 Paediatric Physiotherapist (ideally Tuesday and Thursdays). Growing service with possibility to increase hours in future
  • Based in the friendly and supportive physiotherapy team at Werribee Mercy Hospital
  • Provide quality, evidence based, person-centred physiotherapy to the special care nursery with some short-term outpatient follow-up of high-risk SCN babies and support of paediatric ward patients as required
  • Help build the paediatric physiotherapy service in expanding service
  • Providing responsive, flexible family-centred care
  • A strong culture of team support with an established supervision framework
ABOUT YOU:
  • Recognised Degree in Physiotherapy, current, full physiotherapy registration with AHPRA
  • Strong clinical skills, experience and interest in neonatal and paediatric physiotherapy relevant to position
  • Specialist paediatric assessment training (GMA) highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and practices with a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • High level working knowledge of current evidence based practices and a commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, dedicated, team-oriented and person/family centred

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
