Barwon Health North is a brand new $30 million two storey facility located in the Northern Suburbs of Geelong to provide a state of the art flexible health facility to meet the growing needs of the community.Barwon Health North provides accessible healthcare close to home and to public transport bridging the gap between the acute settings at the University Hospital Geelong by providing the following services:
- Urgent Care Services
- Medical Imaging
- Child and Family Health Services
- Healthy at Home (Chronic and Complex Care)
- Dialysis
- Specialist Clinics
The Barwon Health North Child and Family Health Services Team provide developmental assessment, support and therapy for children from birth up to primary school commencement in the Northern Suburbs of Geelong. We support families to meet their children’s needs. We collaborate with other Northern suburbs providers and agencies.We are part of the Woman, Children’s & Family Directorate and are located at Barwon Health North. We are a multidisciplinary allied health, medical and mental health team skilled in the Paediatric age group. Our team members consist of speech therapists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, complex care navigator, audiologist, psychologists, allied health assistants, child psychiatrist, dietitian, and paediatrician. We follow best practice based on a family centred care philosophy.To provide high quality care to Children and Families accessing the service. To assist in management of group therapies, developmental clinics and administration tasks as delegated by other professionals on team.The Northern Suburbs is both dynamic and challenging environment; where staff draw on a large scope of practice and need to be able to think outside the square to work with some of our client cohorts.
