About the role
Are you a legal admin who is looking for a change . . . a step up? Dentons Australia has a fantastic opportunity for you in our Sydney Recovery and Restructuring practice, on a permanent basis. This is the career change you've been looking for. Utilise the skills you've already gained and build on them as a full time paralegal.
In this role, you will act on behalf of a number of Australia's major banks and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters. The work is of a fast paced nature and will see you having the responsibility of managing a portfolio of files. You will also work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Start to end file management;
- Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents;
- Acting as first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via specialised online web-based portal;
- Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, including liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim to come to suitable arrangements; and
- Working with lawyers to progress matters through Courts.
You will be very well organised and have superior drafting skills and attention to detail. In this role, you will handle a large workload and will be required to keep your workload up to date.
You will enjoy working in a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on-the-job training to help you along the way. You will be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook and phone manner and the ability to work under pressure and deal with sensitive matters.
Whilst not compulsory, applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered. This role is not suited to law graduates.
