Parking and Local Laws Officer
Permanent Full Time
Band 5 - $74,396 - $86,330 (+ 11% super & RDO)

The opportunity
An opportunity has arisen within our Community Safety and Compliance team for a highly motivated, experienced, and professional Parking and Local Laws Officer.
The position is permanent full time and involves working within a great team. The successful applicant must have the relevant knowledge and experience as outlined in the position description.
Key responsibilities
Carry out patrols, investigations, surveys, interviews and inspections to ensure compliance throughout the municipality with the relevant legislation;
Issue infringement notices attend Court and act as Informant when required, issue Notices to Comply, advise and educate the public.
Maintain proper records of all investigations undertaken and ensure the Team Leader is kept informed of all activities and investigations undertaken.
When required perform the functions of an Animal Management Officer under provisions of the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and Hobsons Bay Community Local Law 2015.
Assist and contribute to the preparation and conduct of public awareness and education campaigns relating to animals.
Undertake investigations in relation to complaints received and resolution of complaints in a timely manner to the satisfaction of Council.
About you
Completion of Certificate IV in Local Government (Statutory Compliance) and Certificate IV in Local Government (Animal Management) desirable;
Maintain a good working knowledge of all legislation in relation to relevant Acts, Legislations and Local Laws;
Animal handling experience and knowledge of the Domestic Animals Act
Current Victorian driver’s license is essential.
Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and physical assessment.
