Waverley is a diverse and innovative Council located in the heart of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. With a broad range of services, programs and initiatives, Waverley is one of the leading local government areas in NSW. Taking in some of Sydney's most beautiful beaches including the world famous Bondi Beach, and encompassing part of Sydney's global economic corridor at Bondi Junction, Waverley Council is an enriching place to broaden your career.
We are recruiting permanent, full-time Parking Officers to work as part of a diverse team, to patrol the local area, enforcing parking regulations for the benefit and safety of our residents and visitors. This is a very active role with most patrols conducted on foot.
Parking Officers are on the front-line of local government, in a customer-facing role that can be highly rewarding. To be successful, you will need excellent communication skills. Although you will need to work autonomously for extended periods, you will also work alongside your colleagues and we are looking for candidates who value tolerance and respect for all others.
There is a technical component to this role and you must be confident with the use of computers and technology. You will also need to be observant and accurate when preparing infringements, contemporaneous notes and reports, which may be used in court.
Previous work experience in a regulatory/enforcement environment and knowledge of parking regulations is desirable, but not essential. As a new officer, you will receive on the job training and will be paired with an experienced officer for an initial period.
Refer to the position description for detailed information and the required skills and experience. For more information contact Colin Handsaker on 9083 8465.
Waverley Council is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all candidates. We encourage applications from people from diverse groups, including, but not limited to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people; people from culturally diverse backgrounds; young people; older workers; people with disabilities; LGBTQIA+; and other minority groups. If you require accommodations or assistance during the application process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Human Resources team at **@waverley.nsw.gov.au
