Key responsibilities:
- Accounts payable
- Ensure that suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms and company policy
- Process accounts payable and make payments
- Accounts receivable
- Ensure that customers are invoiced in accordance with agreed terms and company policy
- Prepare invoices and distribute to customers
- Ensure customer payments are received in a timely manner and debtor control is managed efficiently in accordance with company policy
- Payroll
- Ensure that employees are paid in accordance with their employment contracts and company policy
- Prepare employee payroll and superannuation
- General Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Banking
- Bank Reconciliation
- Credit Card Reconciliation
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Reporting
- Preparation of Monthly and annual Management Accounts
- Preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Taxation
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements
- Prepare and lodge Payroll Tax
- Prepare FBT workpapers and return in compliance with legal requirements
- Assist our accounting contractor in the preparation of company tax returns
- Insurance renewals
- Liaison with insurance brokers to ensure the companies’ assets are appropriately insured
- Preparation of insurance renewal information
- Maintain Charts of Accounts
- Ensure compliance with all external statutory requirements
- Assist the Director as required
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Excellent time management
- Able to prioritize tasks in order of importance and due date
- Minimum 5 years’ financial accounting within a commercial environment
- A degree in Business/Commerce and CPA/CA qualified desirable
- Experience and proficiency in using Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously
- Team player with strong communication skills
