The Shire of Kojonup is seeking to appoint an experienced person to fill the role of Part-time Finance Officer and join the Kojonup team.
The Shire of Kojonup is an idyllic location, nestled in the rural heartland of the Great Southern. With a population of approximately 2000 people and covering an area of 2,931km², Kojonup is steeped in history and respects the past while promoting future growth.
The successful candidate will coordinate the day to day accounting and reporting functions, drawing upon their experience, while providing sound book keeping and accounting services to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Elected Members.
This is an important, hands on role. To be considered for this position applicants must address the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Application Package. Experience is meaningful in this role and accounting qualifications are not necessary.
Position Specific
- Undertake weekly reconciliation of Council Funds - Bank Reconciliation;
- Assist the Manager of Finance & Corporate Services in overall financial functions of the Shire including assisting in:
- Provide support with preparation of Annual Budget;
- Provide support with Creditors;
- Provide support with Debtors;
- Provide support with Payroll;
- Coordinate annual reviews of the Shire's List of Fees and Charges;
- Provide support to corporate services staff.
- To support co-workers in a small, close knit finance team, including working periods of relief for others in the section
