Part Time Floating Support Worker
Blackburn Floating Support service based at Roebuck Close, Blackburn
£11.52
15 hours per week

We’re seeking an experienced Project Worker to join our team at Blackburn Floating Support service. We provide support for adults aged 18 and over, living in their own homes in the Blackburn and Darwen area with a range of mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.
We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as ongoing training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. We have our own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting our customers to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
  • Assisting with assessing customers needs by writing and updating support notes
  • Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer queries
  • Developing good relationships with customers, helping them develop life skills
  • Working with external agencies to support customers in accessing specialised support services
  • Handling occasional emergency/challenging situations
  • Some health and safety responsibilities e.g. fire safety checks
Skills and experiences:
  • Experience of working with individuals with metal health needs
  • Prior knowledge of support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Previous experience working under challenging circumstances
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to use IT systems confidently
