How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The Community Wellbeing Branch is responsible for managing, delivering, improving and implementing change in a range of community services to ensure quality outcomes for the city. The area is responsible for planning for and providing children’s services, including child care, parenting services and family support activities, immunisation, maternal and child health services, youth services, and services to older people. The branch works to ensure accessibility to all community members.
The Ageing and Inclusion Centre Support Worker is part of the Ageing and Inclusion team within the Community Wellbeing branch of the Community and City Services division.
The Centre Support Worker provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment and is responsible for customer service, the day to day facility maintenance, operations and administration of the neighbourhood centres and the delivery of neighbourhood activity programs.

The Centre Coordinator Support Worker will also possess,
- Qualification in a relevant field such as community development, recreation services etc. or equivalent experience.
- Requires well developed time management skills in order to prioritise tasks, balance duties and maintain calendars to ensure the effective day to day operations of the Neighbourhood Centres and Neighbourhood Activity Program.
- Experience in working with older people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Demonstrated understanding of venue management and operations.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including effective relationship building with community members.
