PART TIME MARKETING/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
Working 2-3 days per week, ideally in the office, or one day at home, this is a new position in our small, but exponentially growing organisation. Latitude Group Travel operates at the cutting edge of educational group travel, taking pride in being well ahead of the marketplace in the development of our unique, innovative, custom designed national and international group tours. We are highly ethical and our robust educational tours make a real difference to students, teachers, parents and our client schools.
Your key responsibilities will be to work in conjunction with our Founder/Director to design, develop and carry out marketing activities and campaigns, help to meet our strategic goals and to make a real difference to the already significant growth we are experiencing. You will be liaising with our marketing consultants and external Brand Manager/Graphic Designer consultant.
Our CEO manages the entire business of our company, but her most significant role is in the development of our strategic direction, marketing and business development. With such a wide portfolio, she needs an intelligent, creative thinker who can work both with her and autonomously to achieve set goals. Ideally you will be flexible and prepared to work more than 2 days when required.
The ideal candidate will have had sound B2B marketing experience, which we can build on, and they must be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Some experience within a fast moving organisation in marketing, copy writing and/or social media, ideally also with an understanding of business development. If you have no business development experience you must have the type of personality that is persuasive and can liaise easily with clients
- A strong desire to learn new skills, the ability to learn quickly, including developing a detailed understanding of our business
- A sound knowledge of B2B marketing
- The gift to be able to think outside the box - extremely comfortable using both critical and creative problem solving, while meeting tight deadlines
- An eye for both detail and the creative, along with outstanding writing skills, including a wide vocabulary and great spelling and grammar
- Preparedness to help wherever you are needed when we are super busy and to assist the Director or other managers with any other tasks required
- Not afraid of putting in the hours required to achieve what’s needed, when there is a need to work more than 2 days a week
- Demonstrated ability to juggle several different responsibilities simultaneously
- A great sense of humour!
- High level of intelligence that allows you to turn your hand to many different tasks
A unique role such as this requires someone with a diversity of skills and abilities, as well as a love of working in a flexible, fast changing environment, where priorities can change in a minute.
This position will involve the following responsibilities – all working closely with the CEO
- Reading and editing articles for our blog and for social media
- Along with our marketing consulting firm, maintaining our social media accounts, particularly Twitter and LinkedIn, while developing our presence on Instagram, including developing and managing our social media marketing plan and curating articles for reposting
- Developing and copywriting brochures, flyers and advertisements
- Controlling and organising our attendance as an exhibitor at conferences – and attending yourself
- Helping to manage our partnerships – we are corporate partners with one of the most outstanding teacher and school associations and have partnerships with a range of different organisations. Identifying potential partner organisations with the ability to negotiate with them is also a highly prized skill
- Assisting in the maintenance of our website
- Liaising and meeting with clients to support business development
- Organising and assisting the Director where required and ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaising with our external Graphic Arts/Branding Consultant
- Developing ideas of your own to add value to the organisation
- Undertake presentations where required – at conferences or, potentially, schools
This is an evolutionary role and responsibilities may develop or change depending on your specific abilities and interests.
