This position provides professional practice supervision, training and development to both internal and external stakeholders. Practice Supervisors have a key role in supporting and developing robust, ethical and competent practices as well as supporting overall organisational goals and activities. Centacare NQ delivers over 50 programs in a range of sectors including disability, family, youth and children, homelessness, education programs, domestic violence and counselling.
Joining a values-driven, supportive and inclusive team, you will:
- Provide practice supervision and professional development to supervisees to improve and support professional practice, and skills.
- Liaison with program managers in relation to identified and emerging needs in the areas of professional practice and skills development of staff.
- Provide supervision to provisionally registered psychologists (where applicable).
- Understanding of the appropriate requirements for ethical and professional practice in accordance with the requirements of relevant professional bodies and funding body requirements
- Research and develop evidence based frameworks and interventions for the purpose of informing and supporting best practice in programs.
- Maintain accurate records of all supervisory activities.
- Participate in performance management processes for staff including probation reviews, performance improvement processes, and performance appraisals.
- Conduct duties in accordance with the Supervision Framework and practice standards.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in psychology or Social Work and at least five years subsequent experience working in the social or community services sector.
- Extensive experience providing professional supervision/supervising staff/teams and the ability to both model and foster in others strong professional ethics and technical skills in relation to the work and services of the organisation.
- Demonstrated high level of understanding of a range of therapeutic interventions for children, individuals, families and couples and the ability to competently articulate and utilise them in supervisory work. Including the management of complex cases, risk assessment and issues associated with child safety and domestic & family violence issues.
- A current Driver Licence.
- Currently hold, and/or eligibility to obtain and maintain, both a Disability Worker Screening and a Working with Children Blue Card.
