Job description

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of NASCA’s partnerships strategy. You'll be instrumental in building sustainable partnership income and achieving strategic financial objectives. Your role involves cultivating relationships with partner organisations, major donors, and government agencies to maximise revenue streams, and enhance NASCA’s reputation as a 'partner of choice'. The Partnerships Manager will collaborate closely with the Events Lead, Fundraising Manager, and NASCA’s Program and Pathways teams to ensure partnership engagement activities are integrated, relevant, appropriate, and on budget. 

The NASCA Partnerships Manager role is suited to a hands-on senior fundraising professional who can lead the development and execution of comprehensive multi-year partnership strategies. As a natural leader, you have experience engaging with senior stakeholders, inspiring your colleagues, and are proficient in cultivating relationships across government and private sectors. You are an excellent communicator with creative and innovative thinking along with strong business acumen gained from major gift and/or philanthropic fundraising, corporate partnerships, or a business development background.

Relationships will be at the core of all fund-development activities, and the successful candidate must have highly developed interpersonal skills and attention to detail, whilst driving NASCA’s broader strategic objectives. The Partnerships Manager will be motivated and self-directed, and able to work well within a collaborative team environment. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Partnerships Manager will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for corporate partners and major donors.
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential funders, corporate, government and community partners; 
  • Source potential partners, including research, preparing briefs, and developing propositions and compelling proposals to increase NASCA’s income stream and facilitate growth.
  • Assure the highest standards of stewardship with partners and corporate volunteers with an emphasis on cultivating long-term relationships;
  • Manage an existing portfolio of partners and identify opportunities for deeper engagement to drive income growth.
  • Work with the Events Lead, Pathways, and Program teams to ensure our suite of events reflects NASCA’s brand and unique value proposition. 
  • Complete accurate and timely submissions and reports for all organisational corporate acquisition, development, and retention strategies for internal management, including annual income and expenditure budgets and forecasts, monthly leading indicators, management, program target, and other reports.
  • Ensure a data-driven approach is in place for decision-making, emphasising segmentation models, donor research, and data integrity.
  • Liaise with organisational senior management and Board members to secure new potential corporate income streams, including partnerships and sponsorships
  • Drive acquisitions and source and manage high net worth relationships including corporate partnerships, grants (government and private sector), and trusts and foundations.
  • Manage research and analyse partner organisations, including their goals, culture, and alignment with NASCA’s objectives.
  • Lead and support skill development of the team to support the expansion of income streams.
  • Build effective and ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a passion for NASCA’s values and mission and demonstrate a commitment to Indigenous issues with cultural sensitivity and awareness; 
  • Have attained a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; 
  • At least five years of non-profit experience in a managerial capacity is strongly preferred, demonstrating experience implementing strategy, and expertise in a non-profit environment; 
  • Have a proven track record of securing partnerships and positive donor relationships, with experience in the successful execution of strategic cultivation events; 
  • Experience using CRM’s, ideally Salesforce 
  • Experience in managing events (highly desirable) 
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Have outstanding attention to detail and follow-through; have exceptional organisational and time-management skills; be a strategic thinker; have the ability to coordinate and prioritise competing tasks, and complete projects on time while maintaining high levels of performance; and; 
  • Be self-motivated and directed with a strong desire to succeed, whilst being able to work effectively and collaboratively in a close team environment;  
  • Have proficient computer skills. 
     

Must haves:

  • Formal qualifications in a relevant area and/or relevant management experience.
  • A drivers licence.
  • Working with children and AFP clearances.
  • Cross-cultural intelligence.
  • Passion for social justice and equality for Indigenous peoples.
