Earlyrise Baking Co is looking for a full-time Apprentice Pastry Chef/Cook to assist our Cake and Pastry team in making up the Earlyrise family of products.
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, you will use your extensive experience to manufacture and bake our delicious pie and sausage roll range from 100% Aussie beef, chicken and mushroom to potato pie and something sweet like our family apple pie. You will also work with the flakiest and buttery croissants, cakes, slices to hundreds of eclairs and tarts
ABOUT THE ROLE
In your role as an Apprentice Pastry Chef/Cook, your key responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Weigh, prepare and bake Earlyrise Baking Co’s cake and pastry-based products from yummy almond croissants, decadent lamingtons, the fluffiest cakes, slices, biscuits, cookies, and more.
- Through use of manual and/or automatic machines shape or laminate pastry.
- Read and interpret recipes, measure ingredients, and record information.
- Ensuring ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively as per food safety standards.
- Perform general cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
- Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety procedures are followed.
ABOUT YOU
The perfect Apprentice Baker will have a genuine passion for food and hold a special combo of the right skills and attitude:
- You will complete a Certificate III in Baking.
- It may get hot working in and around ovens, but you remain cool, calm and collected – when things are busy it doesn’t get you down because you can easily prioritise to make sure everything gets done.
- You are flexible with your availability. To ensure communities receive the freshest products daily we operate across a seven (7) day rotating roster.
