Summary:

Our client, Apollo Bay Bakery, with a rich heritage on the Great Ocean Road, seeks an experienced Pastry Cook to ensure the daily production schedule is completed and baked to a high standard. You will also assist Management in planning and development in all aspects of the Bakehouse, including costings and crafting their famed Scallop Pie, among other bakery delights.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Complete daily production schedules ensuring high-quality standards.

• Develop and bake a variety of bread, rolls, and assorted bakery goods.

• Craft hand-made pies, pasties, and sausage rolls, including specialty items.

• Ensure the availability of gluten-free and vegan options.

• Assist in the development of new pastry and bakery products, including costings.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the baking and preparation areas.

• Collaborate with management on planning and bakery development.

• Participate in catering preparation for special occasions.

• Contribute to the innovation of the bakery's product line, including seasonal specials.

• Manage inventory and order supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.

• Train and mentor junior staff in baking techniques and standards.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

• 2-3 years of Australian experience in a similar role, with a passion for bakery arts.

• Minimum Certificate III in Patisserie; a Diploma in Hospitality Management is advantageous.

• Strong ability in pastry and bakery product development, including costings.

• Proficient in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

• Excellent teamwork skills, with a capacity to lead and inspire junior staff.
