Work Location : Solomon mine. Mobile Maintenance Department
Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Roster : 8 days / 6 off OR 14 days / 14 off - days only FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to : Superintendent Mobile Maintenance Development
The successful candidate will contribute to the sustainable development of our new to industry employees ensuring career pathways are identified.
You will be responsible for the weekly and day to day planning, scheduling, and coordination of trades assistant activities, working with maintenance apprentices to ensure placement aligns with their study needs and assisting our maintenance teams with providing adequate supplementary labour for day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the weekly and day to day planning, scheduling, and coordination of trades assistant activities
- Deliver effective coaching and workforce development to direct reports.
- Develop and implement a skill matrix for the team and improve the skills of the team.
- Work collaboratively with both the Apprentice management and VTEC departments.
- Placement of maintenance apprentices to work areas to ensure training needs are followed up with relevant on the job experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strongly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with influence, mange conflict, and facilitate difficult conversations in a professional, culturally appropriate and respectful manner.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures
- Certificate IV Training and Education (desirable)
- Experience with both Microsoft suite and SAP for work management (excel, word)
