The Patient Billings Officer plays a very important role at Monash IVF. With high attention to detail, underpinned with empathy and strong interpersonal skills, you will be responsible for all patient contact relating to financial/accounts receivable aspects during their treatment with Monash IVF Group. This is a fixed term role for approximately 12 months duration. You will directly assist in improving and enhancing the journey of Monash IVF patients.
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, your responsibilities include:
- Preparing quotes/invoices, receive payments and issue receipts to patients
- Conducting financial chats with patients
- Verify treatment and costs
- Dealing with Medicare claims and medical billing
- Processing credit card authorisations
- Balance daily takings/banking
- Link and code patient quotes, invoices and payments
- Completing regular checks to ensure payments have been received at key points in a patient cycle
- Debt collection
- Manage Andrology billing
- Manage storage accounts
- Generate and transmit reports as required and requested
- Respond to patient account/billing enquiries in person, email and via telephone
- Provide patients with information about treatment costs and payment options
- To maintain effective communication at all times, with patients, and colleagues regarding accounts/billing as appropriate
The ideal candidate will see their role as vital to the success of the organization. Understanding there are ups and down in reproductive health, our Finance Officer will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will provide exceptional and caring customer service. Ideally you will possess the following:
- Expertise in medical billing
- A thorough understanding of Medicare
- Excellent and efficient cash handling skills
- Strong knowledge of arithmetic and ability to perform simple calculations
- Sound problem solving capabilities and an eagerness to resolve billing discrepancies
- Previous experience in a patient facing administrative role
- Superior organization and time management skills with proven ability to multitask
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Well-developed communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills
