Our Journey:
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. The General Services Department at Casey requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant to work as part of our dynamic and passionate team working in Outpatients
Patient Services Assistant - Outpatients
Wednesday 06.30 – 11.30
(10 hours per fortnight)
A Day in the Life:
The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a committed team who strive to consistently deliver high quality and efficient cleaning services.
- Ward and department cleaning
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and flexibility to change shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
