Patient Services Assistant – Dandening Hospital

About the Role
Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant on a part time ongoing basis, 68 hours a fortnight, to work in North 1 Ward, Dandenong Hospital. In this role, you will be rostered to work the following shifts each week:
PSA North 1 Ward - 68hrs per fortnight.
- Week 1 Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
- Week 2 Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
- Week 3 Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
- Week 4 Monday to Friday 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ward and department cleaning
- Patient transfers
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Ward errands
About Us
Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills for our digital learning system
