About the role

The Payments Officeris critical to making this happen and is accountable to complete the task of inward and outward payments processing for the country. The focus is to ensure high quality, prompt & efficient processing of time critical transactions. In addition, raise timely & cost effective investigation, actioning enquiries to enable clearance of invalid payment items & items queried by other parties in the payment chain. Some of the transactions processed are of high value thus exposing the Group to significant risk.
Identify opportunities for improving processes/practises & procedures on an ongoing basis with the view to creating environment of constant improvements
Achieve a significant uplift in customer satisfaction and advocacy and create real customer value.
Manually process all inward SWIFT customer payments through MIDS/MERVA and Beam Net received each day, ensuring all appropriate exchange rates, fees & charges are applied.
Keep up-to-date with regulatory & legislative impacts on your role & take the appropriate steps to ensure adherence.

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Significant banking experience with knowledge of payments procedures and ANZ policies
Highly developed problem solving skills and the ability to work in a constantly changing environment
Ability to effectively influence and communicate with stakeholders at varying levels - from senior managers to operations staff
Strong attention to detail
Well versed with International payments
