As we embark on the next stage of our ambitious growth plan, we are currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our busy payroll team at our head office in Preston.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Payroll, the incumbent will need to ensure all responsibilities are completed successfully and delivered as directed. The role is responsible for ensuring that external stakeholder requests are managed appropriately, PPL, Gender Reporting, Privacy requests, employee queries, email query management and other duties as directed are managed and actioned appropriately.
PRIMARY FOCUS
The primary focus and responsibilities of this role are:
• Management of the payroll queries inbox including allocation of queries to the relevant Payroll Officer, responding to external queries, and following up on escalated queries
• Design and development of processes for the management of the payroll query inbox including recommendations and implementation of any changes.
• Responsible for responding to external requests for information regarding employee data, ensuring that the requests are compliant and genuine.
• Responsible for the coordination and management of Government Paid Parental Leave (PPL) payments
• Provide assistance with the Gender Reporting yearly process including data collection and uploading of data to external agencies.
• Compliance checking of bank detail and superannuation changes and coordinating these changes with relevant Payroll Officer
• Coordinate the allocation of new starters, variations, and terminations with the relevant Payroll Officer via the payroll system.
• Support the Payroll Officers with responding to general queries including payslips, leave balances, tax and superannuation queries.
• Complete adhoc tasks as directed.

- Provide assistance and support to other members of the team in performance of their roles and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic level of computer skills – Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- A basic understanding of payroll and HR framework and processes including PPL, query management and data entry experience.
