About the Position
The Payroll and Budget Specialist position will play a pivotal role in managing the payroll service providers while also spearheading budget development, forecasts, and reporting. The position will sit with the Human Resources team to ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll Project Manager to transition payroll to a managed service, ensuring documentation of workflows and data integrity.
- Manage end to end payroll processing of the fortnightly pay run, including Aurion and Human force.
- Oversee payroll service providers to uphold security, compliance, and performance standards, managing risks such as Superannuation and PAYG obligations.
- Develop budgets and forecasts for HR costs, preparing reports to meet business and compliance needs.
- Support staff with payroll related questions and proactively guide managers and organisation to create operational efficiencies.
- Analyse HR data to provide insights on talent acquisition, attrition, and operational metrics for informed decision-making.
- Provide guidance on operational efficiencies and participate in organizational initiatives.
Suitable candidates will have a combination of the following experience and skills:
- Tertiary degree required
- The ability to develop and manage budgets and forecasts for Human resources costs would be highly advantageous
- Excellent ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Microsoft Excel specifically in both Pivot Tables & V look ups
- Experience in managing a managed service
- Experience with Aurion and Human force would be highly advantageous
- A high level of accuracy and organisation
