The role is responsible for leading all payroll related activities, including the fortnightly payroll processing cycle, to ensure consistent and accurate application of Catholic Education Office processes and procedures, federal/state legislation and industrial instruments.As the subject matter expert in Payroll, you will provide advice and direction to the Assistant Director - People and Culture on Payroll matters.Three core elements of the role include:Leading the Payroll Team - Core to the success of this role is the ability to lead a team of Payroll Specialists to deliver timely and accurate payroll processing, with a strong customer service mindset.Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders - This is a core part of our culture, and as the successful candidate, you will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and work closely with the People and Culture, Information Technology and Finance teams in the administration and development of payroll systems, processes and software.Strong working knowledge of Payroll Software - In collaboration with the Information Technology team, you'll work proactively to ensure that payroll software, systems and processes are continually developed and improved to deliver a timely and accurate payroll service.ABOUT YOUTo achieve success in the role, the successful candidate will be someone who:Demonstrates a deep knowledge and understanding of payroll/HR management related to the areas of personnel practices relative to employment, employee relations, HRIS systems, salary administration, salary packaging, and post employment benefitsHas extensive demonstrated experience in delivering end to end payroll processing for a medium to large sized employer.Demonstrates experience in leading a payroll function and team.Demonstrates experience working with, optimising and implementing a range of payroll and HRIS software.Has a deep knowledge of federal and state laws, tax and superannuation laws including but not limited to the Annual Holidays Act, Superannuation legislation, Privacy legislation.Demonstrates the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of payroll services.QUALIFICATIONSPost-secondary qualifications (bachelor's degree) in a relevant fieldA current payroll certificationWORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCEThis role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.POSITION APPLICATIONApplicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (the dot points in the 'ABOUT YOU' section of this position advertisement).
