We receive growers’ grain into our network, store it and move it to international and domestic markets.Our unique culture empowers our employees to think innovatively and develop their careers in an exciting and supportive environment.About the roleViterra is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager based in Parkside on a permanent full-time capacity. You will be responsible for overseeing the entirety of the payroll operations with a continuous focus on process improvement, payroll system efficiency and controls implementation within the organisation. The role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely processing of the payroll run. The role is also responsible for the correct interpretation of 9 Enterprise Agreements and accurate payroll processing for these agreements, in addition to wage staff across Australia and New Zealand.Duties include but are not limited to

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
• Lead and manage payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to established processes and controls.
• Communicate payroll policies, procedures, and changes to all employees in a clear and timely manner.
• Manage and maintain relevant payroll systems, ensuring proper functionality including developing and maintaining documented procedures.
• Meet reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement robust controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance in payroll processing.
• Lead initiatives to streamline payroll processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency.

About you

• Extensive experience in payroll processing and management (minimum 8 years), with proficiency in SAP and Chris21 is essential.
• Knowledge of enterprise agreements, awards, and relevant legislation relating to terms and conditions of employment for payroll.
• Experience with Kronos Pro Workforce Management for scheduling, timekeeping and integration with payroll systems is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a small team effectively.
• Prior experience meeting reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
