- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
- Lead and manage payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to established processes and controls.
- Communicate payroll policies, procedures, and changes to all employees in a clear and timely manner.
- Manage and maintain relevant payroll systems, ensuring proper functionality including developing and maintaining documented procedures.
- Meet reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement robust controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance in payroll processing.
- Lead initiatives to streamline payroll processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency.
- Extensive experience in payroll processing and management (minimum 8 years), with proficiency in SAP and Chris21 is essential.
- Knowledge of enterprise agreements, awards, and relevant legislation relating to terms and conditions of employment for payroll.
- Experience with Kronos Pro Workforce Management for scheduling, timekeeping and integration with payroll systems is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a small team effectively.
- Prior experience meeting reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
