A bit about the role...
The Payroll Officer processes pay and entitlements fortnightly for our employee's in Aurion our payroll system (est. 400 staff). You will work across the business, collaboratively with all business units and stakeholders providing interpretation and information relating to entitlements and provisions within multiple awards and agreements. Additionally the position will assist in the processing of group payroll where required. Reporting into the Payroll Team Leader, the Payroll function reports into the People and Culture team. This position is permanent full-time based out of the Southport Head Office.
A day in the life of a Payroll Officer might include the below:
- Preparation and payment of all tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax, Superannuation Guarantee contributions
- Processing new employee's contracts and terminations (from a payroll perspective)
- Preparation and timely delivery of pay slips and annual payment summaries
- Managing Superannuation Choice funds for employees & leave entitlements and payments
- Updating employee records, information and pay rates
- Month-end tasks and reporting
- Answering general payroll enquiries, including advice on awards, policies etc.

A bit about you…
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check
- 2-3 years experience in similar role
- Previous experience using payroll software (Aurion is desirable)
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intermediate Level on Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong numeracy skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technical and numerical information to non-technical audience.
- High level of attention to detail
