THE ROLE

This is a unique opportunity to join the Payroll team based in Melbourne.  Reporting to Payroll Manager , as Payroll Officer you will be responsible for the preparation and the accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages; and the accurate maintenance of payroll and associated employee masterdata.  This is a limited term opportunity until the end of June 2023.

You will also:

  • Undertake the input and analysis of data, including ensuring accuracy of employee entitlements ensuring adhernace to award, EA and legislative compliance
  • Provide accurate and timely processing for all payroll/P&C transactions including sound and timely advice, guidance and support to staff, clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employees and other stakeholders to support and facilitate a high level of payroll services
  • Deliver a range of effective payroll administrative tasks including managing processes, providing services, responding to queries, advising on policy and process and producing reports in accordance with agreed standards and timeframes
  • Provide high levels of customer service in accordance with best practice guidelines, policy and procedure
  • Maintain service standards including prompt issues resolution and adherence to privacy, confidentiality and compliance requirements
  • Participate in and implement continuous improvement activities relating to service practices, quality assurance and customer service excellence

IS THIS YOU?

You’ll need to be service focused, have great attention to detail and high level analysis skills. It would be advantageous if you held formal business, accounting or payroll accreditation.
 

You can demonstrate, through previous experience that you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll management solutions (end-to-end) Specifically: SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, Time and Attendance Solutions
  • A strong commitment to excellence in customer service and a hands-on approach to service provision
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time and plan work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team as well as the ability to exercise independence and judgement where required
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
