About The Role

To provide support to the finance team in processing the weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll accurately and on time, responding to staff queries, providing employment related reports, and carrying out other duties as required. This is a 6-month contract role.

This position will be based in Sydney Olympic Park and will report into the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll.
  • Management of Accounts Payable function including vendor invoices processing and vendor payment processing.
  • Assists the finance team with the day-to-day operations, including the bank reconciliation.

Specific Duties

  • Providing accurate and timely processing for all weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll/P&C transactions including sound and timely advice, guidance and support to staff, clients and stakeholders.
  • Calculate and process payroll related payments for PAYG tax, authorized payroll deductions, superannuation, parental leave, annual leave, sick leave, long service leave and manual payments.
  • Set up new starters, maintain employee records, processing contract changes and calculation of terminations.
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure all timely information flow and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employees, and other stakeholders to support and facilitate a high level of payroll services.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll and AP enquiries in an accurate and customer centric manner with internal stakeholder at various levels, advising on policy and process and producing reports in accordance with standards and timeframes.
  • Maintaining service standards including prompt issues resolution and adherence to privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with government submissions and regulations.
  • Receive, verify, allocate, record vendor invoices and process supplier payments in Dynamics AX.
  • Monitor and enter bank transactions, including bank reconciliation.
  • Provide assistance with month-end closing activities and audit enquiries.
  • Other tasks and duties as reasonably requested.

Work Experience & knowledge.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar payroll and Accounts Assistant role
  • Sound knowledge in onboarding, termination and calculating LSL payments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and great time management skills.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • Payroll system HR3 is highly regarded, Microsoft Dynamics AX is desirable.
