We're on the lookout for an energetic and dynamic Payroll Officer. Play an integral part of the support services for this mining business. Operate payroll from beginning to end for processing and reporting purposes.
Our client is a major player in the gold mining and exploration industry. A progressive owner operator of its gold mine, located south-east of Perth, Western Australia, with the head office located in West Perth.

Your role will be interesting, varied and will include:
- Timely and accurate processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls from site timesheets and corporate office.
- Payroll includes end to end operations for wage payments, payroll tax, super contributions, end of year statements, novated leasing allowances, deductions, workers compensation.
- Calculating and processing ad hoc adjustments and termination pays.
- Processing of salary sacrifice transactions, including novated leases and reconciliations.
- Completing statutory returns and other reports including Payroll Tax, LSL, PAYG-W, and Superannuation returns.
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll data to the general ledger.
- Preparation and reconciliation of all HR Department and payroll purchase orders and invoices.
- Credit card reconciliations.
- Maintaining employee records/personal files for payroll related matters.
- Ensuring files and payroll data are accurate and current at all times in line with employment agreements, and letters of engagement supplied by others and, electronic record keeping and filing kept up to date.
- Monthly and annual reporting and support for audit services.
- Support team to cover operational support, maintenance, updates and continuous improvement of the payroll ecosystem and its interfaces.
- Support the payroll strategy and migration of payroll and time management services to a Cloud SaaS model - SAP.
- Support colleagues in the development of the payroll roadmap to rationalise and standardise payroll solutions across the organisation.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Excellent communicator, professional and personable.
- Experience with high volume transaction processing.
- Experience managing a busy inbox, investigating, and dealing with issues and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in Pronto and preferably experience in a SAP payroll system.
- Previous exposure to complex, high-volume businesses – multiple entities and mining industry advantageous.
- Ability to problem solve and work to deadlines with accuracy.
