About the role
Reporting to the People & Culture Service Centre Manager the Payroll Officer is responsible for providing strong service channel management and timely and accurate advice in a customer-centric manner. You will thrive on providing quality customer service and enjoy working with a high-performing team. You will be confident in calculating special payments, preparing reports, and processing manual backpays and terminations.
A typical day in the role may look like;
- Timely and accurate coordination of end-to-end payroll activities;
- Ensure an accurate and consistent approach to the provision of employment contracts, payroll processing and maintenance of employee records in (Payglobal)
- Be aware of your obligations and adhere to all compliance obligations, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary;
- Monitoring the performance of the payroll system and procedures;
- Making recommendations on enhancements to work processes in order to ensure optimal system functionality, accuracy and efficiencies;
The ideal candidate will have;
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in processing and maintaining records in a computerised HRIS and payroll system (PayGlobal is desirable);
- Strong administrative and analytical skills, with high attention to detail;
- Demonstrated understanding of Modern Awards along with the technical and legal components of employees pay;
- Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and maintain confidentiality;
- Possession of or progression towards of tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a Business-related discipline and/or business college qualifications are desirable.
