The opportunity
The Payroll Services Lead role is integral to the Employee Services team within the People and Engagement Services at TCSO.
As the Payroll Services Lead you will lead and support the provision of high-quality Payroll Services to all 32 schools and the Toowoomba Catholic Schools Office. With a focus on excellence in service standards, you will manage the payroll team ensuring that Payroll Services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with legislation, the application of various awards, policies, and procedures.
As part of Toowoomba Catholic School’s transformative journey focusing on people, processes, and systems, a key project involves the implementation of a new payroll system. The Payroll Services Lead will collaborate closely with the payroll project team and the Manager: Employee Services, ensuring seamless coordination of quality outcomes and the successful implementation of the new system.
We are looking for a leader who can apply their successful experience in
- leading and managing a large, computerised payroll administration system in a similar multi-site environment
- interpreting and applying various awards, policies, and procedures regarding pay rates, leave entitlements and other employment conditions
- oversight and completing all payroll duties which includes all aspects of superannuation, compliance with Income Tax guidelines and workers’ compensation legislation
- people management including leadership, supervision, mentoring team building and conflict resolution
- demonstrating their attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong analytical and report writing skills
- high level problem solving and organisational skills
- business process and quality improvement
- using the Microsoft suite of products, in particular, Microsoft Excel and the use of spreadsheets
- empathy with the values and ethos of the Catholic faith.
