Job Title: Administration, Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist

Company: DG Services 

Location: Emerald QLD

About Us: DG Services is a family owned & operated transport business that is looking for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to our continued success. 

Position Overview: This is an onsite, part time position (5 hours per day) with the ability to extend hours for the right candidate. We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented person that has good communication skills to liaise with employees and clients. Joining our team would mean you are a part of our family.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of payroll administration, including processing timesheets, calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or issues.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, such as recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and other regulatory filings in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of administrative and financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including managing office supplies, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including HR and finance, to ensure seamless integration of administrative, payroll, and bookkeeping processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, bookkeeping, and general accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to take on new challenges and learn new skills.
  • Prior experience in administration, HR, or customer service is a plus.
