Lead the change, from the frontline
The Group Finance department is headed by the CFO and is responsible for a range of finance, accounting and corporate governance related services for Shell Energy. Based in Brisbane, the Payroll Specialist's objective is to process the payroll in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Shell Operations policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
With respect, integrity and honesty, you will:
- Maintaining strict confidentiality in respect to payment transaction details and employee information;
- Provide payroll and administrative services to the team;
- Process new employee set up;
- Assist with termination and resignation calculations;
- Assist with leave requests and queries;
- Annual and sick leave management;
- Assist in managing effective resolution of pay related queries from employees;
- Assist in preparation and actioning of fortnightly payroll;
- Adhere, where applicable, to award related requirements;
- Processing all payments in a timely and efficient manner;
- Internal payroll reporting;
- Ensure that all payroll related Fairwork Australia obligations are met and adhered to;
- Keeping statutory records and calculations;
- Maintaining a complete and organised filing system for all payroll related matters; and
- Maintaining accurate employee records.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Must have user experience and knowledge of Chris 21/IChris payroll system;
- Payroll experience across all aspects;
- Clear understanding of various employment awards and legislations;
- Demonstrated high levels of organisational, time management and problem solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Willingness to learn and take on additional tasks as and when required;
- Knowledge and experience in completing general ledger reconciliations;
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
- Ability to work to deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
- Knowledge of accounting functions and terminology; and
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills;
- Being proactive and flexible towards workload and departmental needs.
